Three decades and thousands of shows performing live Johnny and the Headhunters among the longest existing blues/ rock n roll bands along the east coast. Having played and recorded with some of the artists that influenced them , Johnny and the headhunters are an American Original. Their music is a blend of Authentic blues , Roots Rock n roll , swing , funk and rockabilly.

Blues and roots music is in Johnny's blood and having studied the art form first hand from Musicians such a Eddie Taylor, Memphis Slim, Big mama thornton, Albert Collins, Big Moose Walker ( Earl Hookers Piano man), Jimmy Rogers, James Cotton, and front man with Johnny, Louisana Red. The Headhunters have shared the stage with performers such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Aretha, Steppenwolf, Tower of Power, Taj Mahal, Albert Collins, Buddy guy, James Cotton and many more.
